Why Migraine Pain Is So Hard to Treat
Migraine isn’t just a headache—it’s a neurological storm. Pain, light/sound sensitivity, nausea, cognitive fog, and more can appear suddenly, without warning. Even when medication helps, it rarely addresses the underlying hypersensitivity in the nervous system that contributes to ongoing symptoms.
The brain plays a central role in how pain is generated, interpreted, and amplified. The good news?
You can teach your brain a new response pattern—using self-hypnosis and breathwork to regulate from the inside out.
The Science of Pain & How Hypnosis Can Help
Understanding Pain Perception in Migraine
Pain is not just a signal from the body—it’s a subjective experience shaped by the brain. With migraine, the brain becomes sensitized to internal and external triggers, turning small disruptions into full-body attacks.
How Hypnosis Helps
✅ Reduces pain intensity by 30–50% in clinical studies
✅ Calms overactive brain regions involved in sensory processing
✅ Can be used during an attack or preventatively
✅ No side effects; easy to use at home
Regulate Your Nervous System with Breathwork
Migraine thrives in a nervous system that’s stuck in overdrive. Breathwork is one of the fastest ways to shift into a more regulated state—helping reduce stress, pain, and sensory overload.
Cyclic Sighing is a research-backed technique that:
✔ Lowers heart rate and reduces anxiety
✔ Increases heart rate variability (HRV), a key marker of resilience
✔ Outperformed mindfulness meditation in clinical trials
